The item, the Shun22 slot knife block is superb. I do have to be careful entering the knife into the suitable slot so as not to nick the surface of the bamboo finish. The even darker than anticipated color of my unit is most handsome. I believe the slot numbers are ideal simply because any more onenings for more compact knives would be superfluous.
I bought this product on January 10th as a Christmas gift for my husband. The order arrived around the 20th, but the incorrect block had been sent to me. The staff was really friendly and useful in assisting me fix this.
