In viewing Thanksgiving recipes I read that keeping mashed potatoes in a slow cooker was a time saver as well as eliminating items that need to go in the oven. I went online and, believe it or not, there were reviews on slow cookers from Consumer Reports! This Hamilton Beach was the top pick so my search was immediately over! I was distressed since the delivery date was a month away, and I needed it for Thanksgiving. It arrived early and was a big hit. I finally used it last nice for my dinner. What a treat to walk in my door and have my dinner waiting. Sauerkrut and spareribs of all things, but it was very good. Perhaps a little brown sugar – from my old cooking days – would enhance the dish. I am very pleased with this product.

I love this crock pot. It has two outstanding features that the others don’t–The snap on lid and the “keep warm” feature. In the past I have used crock pots that would cook with the setting of a manual dial. This new Hamilton Beech model cooks for as long as it is programmed and then it will keep the food warm until you are ready to eat. That’s a great feature for those days when you’re running late for dinner! Plus there’s the great new lid that means you can take hot dishes anywhere without a spill or leak. Outstanding product!

Bought this as a gift then decided I needed one for myself. It is well made and simple to use (including the programing feature). Thought the 6 quart might be to large for just my husband and I but it is perfect. The lid is one of the best features. It has a rubber edge and tightens down with clips providing an airtight seal. This means the liquid has much less chance of evaporating. We use it at least once a week. It is my favorite crock pot.

I was tired of trying to transport food to my holiday office party and have half of it spill in my car on the way there so as soon as I saw this slow cooker I had to have it. The sealing gasket works great, no spills even with soups or stews on my 40 minute commute! I especially like the probe feature, it is unique among slow cookers I have seen in the stores. Highly recommend the product!
