It works fantastic! I would suggest it to anyone with a large family or big eaters. Also, amazingly the deal with stays cool even though blackened fish is cooked at maximum heat. I am extremely happy I purchased this skillet. I take very great care of it. I let it cool to room temperature prior to I clean it. I dry it thoroughly on both sides prior to I put it away.
I adore cooking with cast iron and this really is the best skillet I have ever owned. This one is a two inches too large for my stovetop burners, but I mostly use it for frying (the cool spots around the edges are great for keeping quick cooking issues from burning) in the oven as a makeshift baking stone for pizza and bread. I did not like the pre-seasoning as it wasn’t as non-stick as cast iron is supposed to be, but that is effortlessly fixed by adding a couple of more layers of seasoning at home or creating some fried chicken.
Fantastic pan, although rather big which isn’t necessarily a drawback particularly when cooking for a family. Also, be ready for its substantial weight. Works wonderfully, when allowed to be preheated on gas range, or in oven for extra cooking or broiling. Not sure if I’d use it on electric coils of electric range given its weight.
Received my new pan in good condition and on time. This pan is just awesome. Like all Lodge goods, great high quality. Big enough for an enormous pan of fried potatoes or whatever big breakfast I’m creating. Very pleased using the pan and also the cost was just great. Best deal on the net!!
