Product Description
The Bodum Pavina double wall cooler glass is 12 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is ‘floating’ within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant and cafe and they are a definite conversation piece. Bodum’s insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional “soda-lime” glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

Bodum Pavina Double-Wall Thermo Glasses Review
I have been searching for the right coffee mug/glass for a few years and these are everything I wanted. They keep 16oz. of coffee hot for 20min. or so, which is just long enough for me. They don’t have a handle to cramp my hands and they stay cool enough to keep a good grip on them. They are easy to hold and the rim feels good on the lips. The glass is only about as thick as a nice wine glass so I hope they are as durable as they are supposed to be. The first set I ordered wasn’t packaged properly and arrived broken. That’s the only negative I can see, but the replacements were shipped out very quickly and were packaged much better.

I bought 4 of these tumblers about 6 months ago. I use them daily and love them! I’m not overly careful while using the glasses yet none have broken. I find them to be quite resilient and very beautiful (especially when filled with coffee). I expect that the reviewers who gave them poor reviews were careless with them and, therefore, should stick to acrylic tumblers. Please keep in mind that these are GLASS and not indestructible before posting negative reviews. Glass (borosilicate or not) does tend to break when dropped or when metal objects are dropped onto it!

My husband and I got two of these because they looked interesting… we ended up loving them so much we soon bought another set of two. They keep drinks cold or warm very well and look beautiful. We use them for tea, coffee, whiskey on the rocks, juice, milk… you name it. We have already given a set to my parents, and ordered more for other family members as Christmas presents. I have heard of people having trouble with them breaking, but even using our 4 constantly since early August, we have no breakage… just don’t use a fridge ice despenser, stir really hard with a metal spoon, or put it next to anything other than plastic in the diswasher.

This set of glasses is quite interesting. They work quite well–put a boiling-hot beverage inside, yet pick it up with your bare hand without a handle. Cool beverages still cause slight condensation in humid weather, but not to the point where a coaster is needed. I don’t think my 15-oz glass could really hold 15oz – a 12-ounce beer almost fills it completely. Also, though my set arrived just fine, the set I ordered for someone else as a gift arrived broken. Amazon gave up after two attempts.

Saw this as a Gold Box option, and became intrigued. I searched out the various Bodum sizes, styles, and chose on the Pavina, 9 oz. It’s the perfect size for the hand to hold, and the cocktails (what I use it for) stays colder; no glass “sweat.” However, I guess I’m just used to Old Fashion cocktail glasses that hold more liquid. The glass does NOT feel as delicate as other reviewers stated. Actually, the rim is thick, and at first it appeared to be plastic (for durability, I’m sure). It’s a very unique looking glass, and I like it.
